Omnichannel

Bringing every channel a patient uses into one inbox and one shared history.

Definition

Omnichannel communication means channels like WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, Facebook Messenger, email, web chat and phone are handled on one screen, and messages from the same person across channels appear in one history.

The difference from multichannel is that the channels aren't just available, they're connected: when a patient starts on Instagram and continues on WhatsApp, the agent keeps the context.

Why it matters for clinics

A medical tourism patient sees a video on Instagram, sends a DM, then sends photos on WhatsApp and a document by email. If each channel is managed on a separate screen, messages get missed and two agents may reply to the same patient. A unified inbox shortens response times and makes ownership clear.

Example

A patient asks about prices in an Instagram DM and sends their X-ray on WhatsApp the next day. Both messages appear in the same agent's inbox, in the same patient history, so the agent picks up exactly where they left off.
