Your patients live on WhatsApp. Now every conversation lives in your clinic.
Connect your clinic's WhatsApp to MedicalGrow in one of two ways: the Meta-approved WhatsApp Business API, or WADOG, which links your existing number by QR code in minutes. Every message lands in the shared inbox, on the right patient record.

Fast start with your current number
Your most valuable conversations live in your agents' pockets.
Chats scattered across personal phones
Every agent messages patients from their own phone. When someone goes on leave or quits, the treatment plans and photos leave with them.
Managers are flying blind
Which patient got which price? Who has been waiting hours for a reply? Which chat turned into a booking? Impossible to know without opening every phone.
Source and history disappear
The moment a patient from an ad moves to WhatsApp, the trail goes cold. When the deal closes, nobody knows which campaign brought them.
Choose what fits: official and safe, or quick and practical.
The official WhatsApp Business API is Meta-approved and built for long-term business use — it's what we recommend. WADOG links your existing WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code, so you can start in minutes without waiting for template approval. It is, however, an unofficial method, and we tell you that upfront.
- Official API: no ban risk, approved template messages, the number belongs to your clinic
- WADOG: your current number, instant QR connection, no waiting
- Either way, messages land in the same shared inbox

Official API or QR connection?
An honest side-by-side of both options.
| Official WhatsApp Business API | WADOG (QR connection) | |
|---|---|---|
| Meta-approved official connection | ||
| Setup | Meta business verification and number registration | Scan the QR code, connected in minutes |
| Risk of the number being restricted | None | Yes |
| Messaging a patient after 24 hours | With an approved template | Allowed, but frequent or bulk messages raise the risk |
| Bulk or cold messaging | Only with approved templates, within Meta's rules | Not suitable |
| Shared inbox and multiple users | ||
| Conversations linked to the patient record | ||
| Best for | Growing teams, high volume, the long term | A fast start, low volume, a transition period |
WADOG uses an unofficial WhatsApp connection method that is not compliant with WhatsApp's terms of service, and Meta may restrict the number. If you can't afford to put your main business number at risk, or your team is growing, we recommend the official API.
A short decision guide.
Choose the official API if…
Several agents message dozens of patients a day, a restricted number would stop your business, and you need template messages such as appointment reminders.
Start with WADOG if…
You want to start today, your volume is low and patients already message you first. Never message cold lists; use it sparingly and accept the risk.
QR first, official API next
Start working with WADOG while your official API application goes through. Once approved, switch to the official line; patient records and notes stay in the panel.
Reach patients at the right moment — with approved templates, by the rules.
WhatsApp allows free-form messaging for 24 hours after the patient's last message. After that window closes, you can only reach the patient with Meta-approved template messages: consultation reminders, treatment plan notifications, transfer details. With the official API, those templates go out in several languages, personalised with variables.
- The business number belongs to the clinic; agents change, the line and history stay
- Meta-approved connection: no ban risk, scales safely
- Templates in multiple languages: English, German, French, Arabic…
The approved way to reach a patient again after the 24-hour window closes.
Every WhatsApp conversation, on the right patient's record.
Whichever way you connect, WhatsApp messages land in one inbox alongside Instagram, Facebook and email. X-rays, photos and voice notes are stored on the patient record. If the agent changes, the conversation picks up where it left off — and managers can see everything.
- Assign conversations, leave internal notes, hand over between agents
- Photos and documents saved to the patient record and Media Storage
- Response times are reported; AI CRM Chief flags conversations left waiting

Frequently asked questions
If I use WADOG, will my number definitely get banned?+
Not definitely, but the risk is real. Because WADOG is an unofficial connection method, Meta may restrict the number. The risk rises with bulk, frequent or unsolicited messages. Use it for natural conversations with patients; if you can't risk your main number, connect a separate line or choose the official API.
Can I use my existing number for the official API?+
Usually yes — the number goes through Meta's approval process and is registered to the official API. In some cases a new number is more practical. During setup our team works out the best route and configures it for you.
Are there per-message fees on the official API?+
Meta applies its own charges to template messages; conversations inside the 24-hour window the patient opens are treated differently. For current terms and MedicalGrow plans, see the pricing page or ask our team.
Can I connect more than one WhatsApp number?+
Yes. For example, you can connect a separate line for each language team; messages still arrive in the same inbox, assigned to the right team.
Can I send bulk WhatsApp campaigns?+
Yes, on the official API. From Contacts you can send approved WhatsApp templates to selected patients in bulk, schedule the send or spread it out in batches. Follow Meta's rules and only message patients who opted in. Never send bulk or cold messages through WADOG (QR) — the number can be restricted.
Keep patient conversations in your clinic, not on an agent's phone.
Let's choose the right connection together. No per-user fees.
